What should a seller do when a buyer backs out?
Relisting the home quickly and reviewing the contract for whether earnest money is owed are the first two moves when a buyer backs out of a deal. Joel Boss also looks at why the buyer exited, since a financing failure or inspection issue that killed one deal might need to be addressed before the next buyer raises the same concern. Getting the listing back in front of buyers fast matters more than dwelling on the fallout from the one that fell through.
